I am unfortunately unemployed and don't have cable TV, so I spend a lot of time on you tube and reading blogs for entertainment. I stumble across a lot of interesting stuff and a lot of bad stuff (^^^^), but I knew a few people on here would like to keep the Haterade flowing, so I decided to post this. Sometimes ignorance is bliss (I've lived that way a long time myself and in most cases alos choose to ignore whats going on), but sometimes Sun Tzu is right.

I'm gonna have to say d-bag quotient went up in the late 90's. And what does going to college have to do with rape. Only hardcore kids think education is a bad idea. College isn't the problem.

If there are more girls at hardcore, punk, or metal shows than guys, than your band is not hardcore, punk, or metal.

There is nothing wrong with listening to hip hop. There is a lot of great underground hip hop out here and the fact that I enjoy some of it doesn't make me any less "hardcore". Also, as Jeffers (mikeunion) pointed out, not all (or even most) college students are alcoholic rapists. And if you've been noticing swoopy haired douche bag kids at the shows you've been attending, they probably weren't actually hardcore shows. I've been going to hardcore shows for like 15 years, and haven't really seen any swooshy haired emo kids at any real hardcore shows.

I love flipping through Alternative Press. It's like peering into another world. Where did these bands come from? What on earth inspired them to pick up their instruments and play music like that? Is something wrong with their ears? What do they actually LISTEN to? Why are they all so shiny?

I mean, part of me is hugely dismissive of all this crap but then there is some nerdy impulse of mine that keeps nagging at me to find out how this stuff came to be. How or why, I guess...

But arn't groups usually wimmin? I've never seen a groupie in real life, but from what I hear they are usually wimmin.
