Join us every Thursday, June 9 – August 25 for our FREE Thursday Concert Series at Canalside!
The Lowest of the Low is a Canadian alternative rock group formed in 1991 from Toronto, Ontario. They were one of the most influential bands on the Canadian alternative music scene in the early 1990’s, garnering widespread critical acclaim and radio play. Their most successful album, Shakespeare My Butt, was later named one of the ten greatest albums in Canadian music history in three successive reader polls by the music magazine Chart, as well as being ranked as the 84th greatest Canadian album of all time in Bob Mersereau’s book The Top 100 Canadian Albums.
Opening act Serena Ryder continues to break new ground on all musical fronts with her November 2012 release, Harmony (Serenadar Source / Universal Music Canada) achieving Gold-selling status in just a few short months and then sky-rocketing to her first platinum album certification shortly after. The trailblazing, infectious lead single, “Stompa” is currently triple platinum and the equally anthemic follow-up track, “What I Wouldn’t Do” raced to the top of the radio airwaves top 10 lists across all formats and double platinum. Testament to the depth of Harmony, the album’s third single, “Fall” is currently a mainstay at radio. Ryder is quickly becoming a radio sensation south of the border too, with massive radio airplay and topping the U.S. Triple A charts.
