Sit and Spin was opened by Geoff King and Martin Krajewski in August of 1999 at 5866 Transit Rd. in Depew, NY.

In February 2001, they bought out the stock of Discovery Records in Tonawanda.

In 2005 and 2006 they began doing live in-store appearances. Bands that played there include Holy Mountain, Dead Hearts, Corpus Dei, Witch Hunt, Day Of The Dead, Lemuria, Marathon, This Is Hell, Everything Falls Apart, Cancer Bats, Lemuria, Another Breath, Nural, War At 33 1/3, Mind Eraser, Iron Lung, and many more. Due to a mishap at one of these appearances, Sit And Spin is currently being sued for one half million dollars. Despite the lawsuit, they did one last in-store, featuring War At 33 1/3, Everything Falls Apart and Lemuria in honor of New Year's Eve 2007.

In 2007 they moved to their new location at 2531 Delaware in Buffalo, NY 14216.
